Organic Pillow

While I was taking a morning walk today, I saw a man sleeping on a bench outside a nearby hospital. Using his thick bag, full of his belongings, as a pillow.
When I observed my electrician Narayan’s bag full of electric items he uses for repair, I found it too heavy. When I was talking to him, he told he is having pain in his shoulders.
A study about work-related musculoskeletal disorders among pluckers in a tea plantation in Tamil Nadu (https://lnkd.in/dFS3VBUB ) observed that they frequently have musculoskeletal pain, linked to their heavy workload, lengthy workdays, the terrain, and insufficient job rotations. Their ability to work and their health are impacted as a result. Seventy percent of India’s workforce works in agriculture, out of which two million people are employed in plantations.
Post-COVID many of us are working from home, with everything we need to comfort us like many breaks, AC, having a healthy meal, and so on. Still, as per a survey, 8/10 employees have body pain-related concerns during WFH.

As intellectuals how can we reduce the pain of WFH professionals and hardworking laborers? This thought and a few ideas to solve these problems crossed my mind a few days ago. I tried to understand the problems from some of them and read a few news articles. I thought our lives are so beautiful, happy, and comfortable, while their pains hurt me badly. And I started working on them.
Inappropriately designed pillows can aggravate back and neck problems. The sleeping posture determines which pillow is ideal for you. Sleeping on your back, side, and stomach using a soft, thin, or sufficiently flat pillow is the key to reducing this pain.
After studying this I tried to look at nature and created a product, from 3 types of natural, recyclable/sustainable material, which is available anywhere in the world for free.
I designed a simple to create, soft, thin pillow and mattress, having porosity that can keep it cool in summer and warm in winter and monsoon. It is washable and the material can be refilled by disposing and reusing or decomposing the used one. I used it myself, followed by my family, and a few hard workers like Narayan . It helped them to sleep comfortably significantly reducing neck and back pain.
As the inventor of the idea with our consulting firm Quantum Leap Consultants as a patent holder, I propose to implement this idea with the help of manufacturers, like Godrej, Reliance, and Khadi Gramodyog for mass products (price > 100₹) and with Spaces, Duroflex, and Wakefit for premium product.
